2000-2010 Film & Storytelling

“Transitions and expansion imbued the 2000's with a focus on concept design for film and learning the art of the story.”

The San Diego Comic Con became a yearly event along with new products (from cardsets to jewelry) being launched there. The illustration world was waning in strength when another opportunity presented itself…

Production Designer Barry Jackson asked me to join his concept design team on a CG animate feature film called, The Ant Bully, directed by Jon Davis. This began a five year journey of working on feature films from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader to The Golden Compass. I learned the importance of visual development in story telling whether it was moving or not. Understanding how the CG pipeline works in an increasingly tech driven industry opened my eyes to the complexities of making film in our times. See my reel HERE.

My first children's book, The Eyes of the Unicorn was published. Feminine themes whether they be from myth or faerie continued to express themselves in my work.
